Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Welcome to Lumina Quest Publishing, where we invite researchers, clinicians, and scholars to submit original, high-quality manuscripts that contribute meaningfully to scientific and academic knowledge.

We accept full-length research articles, review articles, and short communications. There is no strict word limit; however, manuscripts should be written clearly, concisely, and professionally.

Authors are required to submit their manuscripts through the Author Login Portal:

Authors must upload the following mandatory documents during submission:

  1. Manuscript PDF file
  2. Editable Word file (.doc/.docx)
    • All figures, tables, and legends must be included
    • References must be numbered sequentially and match in-text citations
    • References should be recent (preferably last 5 years)
    • Each reference must include a DOI or direct web link (where available)
  3. Authors Ethical Approval Report (if applicable)
  4. Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure Form Download
  5. Copyright Transfer Form Download

๐Ÿ‘ค Authors Information (Mandatory Section)

All authors must provide complete and accurate author details at the time of manuscript submission. Incomplete author information may result in delay or rejection of the submission.

Each author must submit the following information clearly:

๐Ÿ”น Required Author Details

For each author, the following are mandatory:

  1. Full Name (as it should appear in publication)
  2. Academic / Professional Designation (e.g., Professor, Assistant Professor, Research Scholar, Consultant, PhD Candidate)
  3. Institutional Affiliation (Department, Institution/University, City, Country)
  4. Official Email Address
  5. ORCID ID (strongly recommended / mandatory if available)
  6. Complete Correspondence Address (Institutional or postal address with city and country)

โš ๏ธ One author must be clearly identified as the Corresponding Author, with:

  • Email address
  • Full mailing address

โš ๏ธ Submissions without these documents may not be processed.

๐Ÿงพ Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Before submission, please ensure that:

  • The abstract is structured (Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion)
  • Plagiarism is below 30%, with no more than 3% from a single source
  • The manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere
  • Figures and tables are clearly labeled and cited in the text
  • References are formatted consistently and accurately

๐Ÿ“š References Guidelines (MLA Style - Numerical Order, Mandatory)

All manuscripts submitted to Lumina Quest Publishing must follow MLA formatting, with references listed in a numerical sequence based on their first appearance in the text. Alphabetical ordering of references is not permitted.

Manuscripts that do not comply with these reference requirements may be returned for correction prior to peer review.

๐Ÿ”ข Reference Ordering & In-Text Citations

  • References must be cited in the text using Arabic numerals in square brackets. Example: โ€œโ€ฆas reported previously [1,2].โ€
  • The reference list must be arranged numerically, according to the order in which references first appear in the text.
  • The first cited reference in the manuscript must appear as Reference [1], the second as [2], and so on.
  • Alphabetical reference lists are strictly not allowed.
  • In-text citations and reference list numbering must match exactly.

โœ๏ธ Author Names (MLA Rules)

  • Author names must be written as: Last Name, First Name
  • If there are more than two authors:
  • There must be no space between initials:
    โŒ M. B. Usman
    โœ… M.B. Usman
  • A full stop is required after et al.

๐Ÿ•’ Dates & Publication Details

  • If the month is mentioned, it must be written in full:
    โŒ Aug. 2021
    โœ… August 2021
  • Include only month and year (do not include the exact date).
  • Page ranges must be written in full:
    โŒ pp. 251โ€“58
    โœ… pp. 251โ€“258

๐Ÿ”— DOI and Direct Links (Mandatory)

  • All journal articles must include a DOI, where available.
  • DOI format must always start with:
    https://doi.org/
  • If a DOI is not available, authors must provide a direct and accessible URL.
  • References without a DOI or direct link may be considered incomplete.

๐Ÿ•’ Recency of References

  • Authors are strongly encouraged to cite recent literature.
  • Preferably, the majority of references should be from the last 5 years.
  • Older references may be included only if scientifically essential.

๐Ÿ“Š References in Tables and Figures

  • Any references cited in:
    • Tables
    • Figures
    • Figure legends
      must also appear in the main reference list.
  • Reference numbering must remain continuous and sequential throughout the manuscript.

โŒ Unacceptable Reference Practices

The following are not permitted:

  • Alphabetical ordering of references
  • Missing in-text citations
  • References without DOI or direct links
  • Mismatch between in-text citations and reference list
  • Inconsistent MLA formatting

โœ… Final Reference Checklist (Before Submission)

Authors must confirm that:

โœ” References are listed numerically (order of appearance)
โœ” In-text citations match the reference list

โœ” Recent literature is adequately cited
